Description
Welcome to the Asato Dojo, based in Naha, Okinawa. We are an international dojo where you can learn a range of Okinawan fighting arts from experienced bilingual teachers (all ranked 5th dan or above).
Classes currently available include
– Matsubayashiryu karatedo & kobudo – the Tomari-te school established by Nagamine Shoshin sensei (James Pankiewicz sensei, Tamashiro Toshihiko sensei)
– Gojuryu – the karate school created by Miyagi Chojun sensei (Andrea Klementisova sensei, Dan Antonsen sensei)
– Ryukyu Kobudo – traditional weapons practice originating from Taira Shinken sensei (Dan Antonsen sensei)
– Motobu-ryu Moidi – the Motobu family style of combat as further developed by Shiroma Seihan sensei (Tamaki Tatsuya shihan)
– Junior karate and kobudo classes for ages 5 – 14 (4 classes per week) (James Pankiewicz sensei)
– Yoga (once a week)
We welcome locals and visitors alike to join our scheduled classes, or request private classes with our instructors. We welcome large groups for special seminars and can arrange suitable venues for single or multi-day events.

Conveniently located in Naga near Kokusai Dori with easy access to public transportation. Great training with very experienced instructors covering Shorin-Ryu, Goju-Ryu, Motobu-Udundi, and Ryukyu Kobudo. Very welcoming instructors and students.
