Karate Dojo BWC-Viersen Matsubayashi Ryu

Over 40 Years of Karate in Viersen our dojo has been in existence since march 1983 as a division of SV Blau-Weiss Concordia Viersen. We currently have approximately 70 members ranging in age from 8 to 80. Training is led by licensed instructors. We practice the Matsubayashi-Ryu style and are affiliated with the World Matsubayashi-Ryu (Shorin-Ryu) Karate-Do Association (WMKA). Training with traditional weapons—such as the bo, sai, tonfa, and kama—is also taught and practiced in our dojo. We place great emphasis on self-defense—the very purpose of a martial art. Since we offer a very versatile training program, people of all ages (from 8 to 80) can participate. Training improves flexibility, endurance, strength, and speed. The mental challenge develops concentration and coordination and builds confidence in one’s own abilities. Above all, however, enjoying the martial art of karate is the primary goal of our club.
